Key Points to Designing Business Cards

Even in these days of social networks and online marketing, some forms of print advertising never go out of style. For one, there still isn’t a more effective way to market your business to people you meet on the road than by handing them a business card. Before you go to your trusted printing shop though, here are a few things you should keep in mind when designing your business cards:

Purpose

A business card doesn’t just need to have your company name and number on it. It can convey a lot of different things, such as marketing a product or service, or maybe a new promotion you’re trying to get the word out for. Inculcate your goals in your design as clearly as you can. This helps greatly in terms of branding.

Empty Back

Keep the back of your card blank. This way, you don’t overwhelm your customer with too much information written on something small enough to fit their wallet. If you do want to place something on it, make sure that it’s something nonessential or simply supplemental, too, because people wouldn’t usually browse through the back of your card, anyway.

Photos

Don’t underestimate having a photo on your card, especially when it comes to networking events. This will not only make you look professional, but it could also help your leads easily remember how you look like and associate it with your business.
